Life Is Short

Being happy and not worrying about stuff can be hard at times, but I am finding it easier to do as I get older. I’m coming up on my fifty-second birthday and it makes me realize that my time here on Earth is getting shorter. This awareness helps me stop worrying about things and live my life to its fullest.

A lot of people have fears and insecurities in their life today, and I’m not saying I don’t. But when I focus on what’s good in my life and remind myself how short it is, my worries fade away and I find an inner peace I had been denying myself. The kind of peace that can only be felt when we realize that all we have is the present moment and that it’s useless to worry about things we have no control over.

We may need help to do this, and asking for help can be hard for some of us, but that’s one fear I no longer have.  I’ve learned that talking with someone we trust helps us feel better, and many times we begin to see that our problems aren’t so bad.

If growing older has shown me anything. It’s that I can be happy in life if I choose to. I just find it easier to make that choice when I remember it’s short.

  1. Very inspiring indeed. I have been thinking and thinking about making a big change in my life. I made that final decision today. I’m very excited for my son and I.
