While listening to, The Greatest Love of All. A song about Muhammad Ali, my teenage role model, and why I started boxing at 15, saddened me this morning. We could certainly use more people like him in this world today. Even though he is no longer here, he inspires me to do my best to be a good person. I know Ali did. Learning to love myself enough to be happy with who I am, which eventually turned into unconditional self-love, helps me to do that. And it also enables me to try to love others similarly. Maybe that’s what we are here to do on this Earth. Love ourselves and others unconditionally. I know Muhammad Ali did.
I understand it can be hard at times. The world is anything but a better place right now. But there is good in it if we look for it.
See good in yourself and you will see it in others. Love yourself and it becomes easier to love others. Also, be happy with who you are and help others. And finally. Be the good in the world for others to find.
The Greatest Love of All
… I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be
… Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me
… I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone’s shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I’ll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can’t take away my dignity
… Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
